My Reading Project 2026

I’ve had the best reading year working my way through Barbara Pym and Shirley Jackson’s back catalogue. So enamoured with the combination am I, I appear to have written a short novella about a Barbara Pym obsessed young women, trapped in a Jackson-esque nightmare on the Isle of Man. Did not see this coming. In 2026 I’m going big. I’ll be reading all of Hilary Mantel’s writings alongside re-reading all of my beloved Flannery O’Connor’s work. If you’d like to join me, here’s a list of what I’ll be reading in the correct chronological order. I anticipate learning an awful lot this year and will be sharing my reading journey on Instagram and Bluesky under the hashtags #MyYearWithFOC and #MyYearWithHM Happy reading everyone.
