The award-winning author of The Raptures and The Fire Starters, Jan Carson, will be in conversation with writer and journalist Roisin Kiberd. Join for a wide-ranging conversation including a discussion of Jan’s most recent novel, Few and Far Between (Penguin, 2026).

Jan Carson is a Belfast-based writer and the author of four novels, three short story collections, and two collections of micro-fiction. Her novel The Fire Starters won the European Union Prize for Literature for Ireland in 2019. The Raptures was shortlisted for both the An Post Irish Book Awards – Irish Novel of the Year and the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award. Her writing has aired on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4, and RTÉ, and has been translated into more than twenty languages worldwide.

Roisin Kiberd is the author of The Most Normal Woman: Essays on Appearances (coming in August 2026), and The Disconnect: A Personal Journey Through the Internet (2021). She has written for The New York Times, The Dublin Review, The Stinging Fly, Winter Papers and others, and teaches creative writing at the University of Galway.
